CAUTION: Before powering the water heater, make sure the system is completely filled with water and all air is removed.

Removing Air

  • To ensure all air is out of the water heater, open the hot water faucet on the fixtures until a steady flow of water is observed. If air remains in the tank, the element could be damaged when the electric cord is plugged in.

Power Cord

  • The Eccotemp SMARTHOME MINI TANK water heater is equipped with a power cord designed to plug into a standard 110/120v receptacle. Adhere to all state and local codes. The ESH is manufactured and wired in accordance with ETL requirements.

Powering Your ESH

  1. Plug In: Connect your Mini Tank to a grounded outlet.

  2. Adjust Temperature: Set the temperature using either the manual controls located towards the back on the right side of the SmartHome app.

  3. Warm-Up Time: Allow up to 25 minutes to reach your desired set temperature.

Overheat Sensor

  • The ESH includes an overheat sensor with a manual reset, also known as the temperature high limit. This sensor interrupts the power supply in case of a thermostat failure. The manual reset is located on the back of the mini, in the middle at the bottom. If you have wall-mounted your water heater, you may need to unmount it to access the reset switch.
