CAUTION: Before powering the water heater, make sure the system is completely filled with water and all air is removed.
Removing Air
To ensure all air is out of the water heater, open the hot water faucet on the fixtures until a steady flow of water is observed. If air remains in the tank, the element could be damaged when the electric cord is plugged in.
Power Cord
The Eccotemp SMARTHOME MINI TANK water heater is equipped with a power cord designed to plug into a standard 110/120v receptacle. Adhere to all state and local codes. The ESH is manufactured and wired in accordance with ETL requirements.
Powering Your ESH
Plug In: Connect your Mini Tank to a grounded outlet.
Adjust Temperature: Set the temperature using either the manual controls located towards the back on the right side of the SmartHome app.
Warm-Up Time: Allow up to 25 minutes to reach your desired set temperature.
Overheat Sensor
The ESH includes an overheat sensor with a manual reset, also known as the temperature high limit. This sensor interrupts the power supply in case of a thermostat failure. The manual reset is located on the back of the mini, in the middle at the bottom. If you have wall-mounted your water heater, you may need to unmount it to access the reset switch.
