ESH CONNECTION INSTRUCTIONS
Updated over a week ago

To connect your ESH water heater to the WiFi and the app, please follow the steps:

  1. Turn on WIFI.

  2. Be sure the dial/knob on the side of the water heater is set to “WIFI”

  3. The power icon will be BLUE (off) at first. Tap the power icon to change to RED (on).

  4. Press the power icon for 5 seconds - the power icon will be RED and begin to fast blinking. This will put the water heater into EZ connection mode. This is the best way to connect.

  5. If the user presses the power icon for 10 seconds, it will be RED and begin to slow blinking. This will put the water heater into AP connection mode.

  6. Make sure the water heater is in one of the pairing modes above (fast blink = EZ mode and slow blink = AP mode).

  7. Click “Add Device” in the top right corner of the app.

  8. You will then see a screen that says “Searching for nearby devices. Make sure your device has entered pairing mode (fast blink or slow blink)."

  9. If the water heater does not automatically connect, you will select from the 2 options below the text “ADD MANUALLY”. There are 2 water heater options (Tankless Water Heater and Mini Tank Water Heater).

  10. For ESH, select Mini Tank Water Heater.

  11. If you get a pop-up that says “Select 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi Network and enter password. Click the red button at the bottom that says “NEXT”.

  12. Another pop-up appears that says “You are connected to a 5 GHz Wi-Fi network. Switch to one of the following 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks and continue.” You will select “Continue with Current Network”.

  13. On the next screen, you will want to be sure the water heater power icon is fast-blinking and RED.

  14. Click the circle next to “Confirm red button blinks quickly” and then click the RED box at the bottom of the screen that says “Next”.

  15. The water heater & app will begin connecting. Sometimes this may take 2-3 minutes to complete. The power icon on the water heater will quit blinking and turn solid red once the water heater and app are paired/connected.

  16. Once connected/paired, the screen will update to show the water heater and the customer can now rename it if they wish and then use the app for the water heater.
