L5 Unit produces warm/tepid water, Not Hot!!

Unit produces warm/tepid water, from garden hose. I added a flow control valve to shower head, but only improves marginally.

Hello John Smith,

Good day!

Set the gas and water knobs to minimum. At this setting, use the gas temperature knob to find your desired temperature. The water dial knob is to control the water flow. Have it to minimum means less flow and exact opposite when you have to maximum setting. You may adjust according to your preference.

Please let us know after.

Hi Tech Support,

Thank you for the prompt response.

I did as you said, and at minimum water flow but maximum gas only gives warmish (certainly not hot) water. I added the external valve to slow down water flow further, but only momentarily improves and then unit shuts off . Also the unit shuts off when I adjust gas flow, especially at the "halfway" point.

Hello John Smith,

Good day!

Thank you for the update. Can you please try this setting?

NOTE: Set the gas temp knob to minimum and the water temp knob to maximum.
Additional Setting: Turn both screws clockwise until resistance is felt. Once the screws are in closed position, please turn the LEFT screw just 1/8 of a turn counterclockwise and 1 full turn on the RIGHT screw.

After trying this one, please set the gas to mid and water to the minimum flow. Please let me know after.

Thanks!! that made a huge difference! Previously the flames were very tiny; now I can easily see them through the grate and HOT water provided. Is there a risk to how high they flames do get (I followed the alternative 1/8th turn and 1 turn method you wrote).

Thanks so much!

Hello John Smith,

Good day!

You're welcome!! I am glad that it has finally been resolved. There is really no risk because the gas valve controls the flame and it will not be more than 2 inches high. Always set the gas temp knob to minimum and the water temp knob to maximum. At this setting, use the gas temperature knob to find your desired temperature.

Thank you so much for the update!
