The gas co.verified the gas pressure. I turn on the hot water faucet. The 45HI fan and ignition does it's sequence for proper ignition as explained in troubshooting section. Only problem is that's as far as it goes and stops any heating due to the E1 code always popping up. I've retried several times to restart but keep getting the same results of E1. Same results when gas co. made numerous attempts also. Is there something I can ck or do that may solve this problem?

The gas co. came out and tested the pressure of gas to the 45HI unit and it is suitable for use. They even tried to figure out why the E1 code keeps appearing and shutting the unit down right after the start up proceedure. Can anyone tell me what is wrong with this unit or what needs to be done to make it work properly and efficiently. Thank you

    Hello Timothy Stevens,

    Good day!

We apologize for the inconvenience. Please try tapping on the solenoid valve using a wrench (check first photo) and if this does not solve the issue then unplug the unit and disconnect the wire powering up the solenoid(see second photo).

Please let us know after. You can also respond to your emailed ticket instead.

    Hello Steve Church,

    Good day!

E1 pertains to gas issues. It is possible that when you open the third faucet the unit does not sustain the amount of gas pressure needed. Please check your gas hose and regulator or better yet switch to a new one that is capable of delivering the proper gas flow needed for the140,000BTU. Also please tap on the solenoid valve to ensure that it is not stuck. There is also a wiring connection from the solenoid to the computer board that you need to check.

    Hello Daryl,

    Good Day!

Please unplug the unit from the power supply, open the front panel and please disconnect and reconnect all the wires. Please also check the screen filter at the drain plug at the water inlet and make sure that it is clean. The only other thing that is needed to be replaced in that case is the computer board however, before we conclude to that, we need to first isolate the case. Please check the gas pressure which should be at 8-11 inches of water column. Then try switching to a different gas hose and regulator. If the issue persists, please send us an email to support@eccotemp.com or call 1-866-356-1992 (Mon-Fri 9am-5pm PM EST).

We are having the same issues as above. Gas company has been out twice. We bought heater 9/29/16, installed in October. This seems to be an issue with this model 45HI. Seems to me that the company should be making this right with everyone. Purshased for $500 and can't even take shower. Not a happy customer !!!

    Hello Pnoodle24,

    Good Day!

Have you tried these steps already? Please unplug the unit from the power supply, open the front panel and please disconnect and reconnect all the wires. Please also check the screen filter at the drain plug at the water inlet and make sure that it is clean. The only other thing that is needed to be replaced in that case is the computer board however, before we conclude, we need to first isolate the case. If you are on Liquid Propane please try switching to a different gas hose and regulator. If the issue persists, please send us an email to support@eccotemp.com or call 1-866-356-1992 (Mon-Fri 9am-5pm PM EST).
