Before Starting
Check for Damage: Inspect the packaging for any shipping damages. Report issues promptly to ensure coverage.
Verify Parts: Ensure all parts and accessories are included as per local regulations.
Installation Steps
Water Input Setup:
If using a standard garden hose, attach the 1/2" NPT to the garden hose adapter to the 'Water Input' fitting. Use sealant tape for a secure, watertight fit. Ensure the screen inside the water inlet is clean and in place.
Gas Supply Installation:
Install the gas supply line and regulator using two wrenches. Avoid over-tightening to prevent damage. Check for gas leaks before proceeding.
Water Output Connection:
Attach the shower nozzle hose to the 'Water Outlet' fitting. Do not over-tighten. If using a pressure relief valve, install it first before attaching the shower nozzle hose.
Battery Installation:
Insert four AA batteries into the compartment on the bottom left of the heater, observing the correct polarity.
Mounting:
Use the top tab of the water heater to suspend it from a mounted screw capable of holding 30 pounds. Ensure it's mounted at a height that avoids stress on the gas hose. Do not use the handle for suspension. Permanent mounting voids the warranty.
Gas Cylinder Connection:
Attach the gas regulator with the hose to the LP tank. Hand-tighten the plastic connector. Keep the gas tank valve in the 'OFF' position until ready for use.
Operating Instructions
Setting Up for Use:
Ensure the showerhead or water outlet device is in the 'OFF' position.
Set the water regulator knob to its highest setting and the gas regulator knob to its minimum setting.
Ignition and Operation:
Ensure the gas cylinder is upright and fully open the gas valve. (IF THE SMELL OF GAS IS DETECTED, TURN OFF THE GAS VALVE IMMEDIATELY!)
Turn on the incoming water supply with pressure between 20-80 PSI.
Turn on the showerhead or water output device to the 'ON' position and adjust to the desired flow.
Listen for audible clicks indicating ignition. If the burner fails to ignite after 5 seconds, refer to troubleshooting in the manual.
After Use:
Turn off the showerhead or water output.
Shut off the gas and water supply.
For storage, disconnect water and gas lines from the heater.
Drain the heater by unscrewing the drain plug from the bottom.
Cold Weather Precautions:
In freezing temperatures, ensure water is drained from the heater after each use to prevent internal damage. Disconnect the outgoing water line to drain the heat exchanger.
Installation Guidelines:
Install in accordance with local codes or national standards like ANSI Z223.1/NFPA 54 or CSA B149.1/CSA B149.2 for propane installations.
