We understand that no installation is the same, so we've compiled a few tips and tricks to help speed along your installation process.

Both the EM series and the ESH series are equipped with 1/2" NPT threaded Male fittings. We chose NPT because it is recognized as the most widely used and is the American Standard.

Now, if you do not have 1/2" NPT fittings, you'll need to make some minor adjustments. You may need to purchase a fitting to fit your hoses on the water heater. You'll need 1/2" female fitting to screw onto the male NPT fitting. Then you'll need to use hoses similar to the one you see below to attach to the fitting. You can use PEX too, but we usually recommend using the more flexible hoses since these are usually installed in tight spaces and they allow for an easier installation.

We've shared a few different installations so that you can see that not every installation is the same and can require some customization depending on the use and location or even the existing hoses if you're trying to avoid changing much.

You will need to keep in mind that there are rubber gaskets on the incoming and outgoing water fittings. These rubber gaskets are meant to protect from leaks and provide that extra bit of security against leaks. This is important to note when you're purchasing your hose.

Like we said at the beginning, no installation is exact so be patient with yourself and make sure you are prepared and you have all you may need for the location you're planning to install in. If you have questions or aren't really sure about what fittings you may need, open up this article when you're at the store and ask an associate for help. They should be able to point you directly to what you'll need.
