Whether you're installing the EM Series or the ESH Series, these tips should be helpful.
General Tips
We understand that every installation is different, so here are a few tips and tricks to help speed up your process.
Both the EM Series and the ESH Series come with 1/2" NPT threaded male fittings. We chose NPT because it is the most widely used American Standard.
If you don't have 1/2" NPT fittings, you'll need to make some minor adjustments. You may need to purchase a fitting to connect your hoses to the water heater. You'll need a 1/2" female fitting to screw onto the male NPT fitting.
For tight spaces, we recommend using flexible hoses over PEX for easier installation.
There are rubber gaskets on the incoming and outgoing water fittings. These gaskets are crucial for preventing leaks and providing extra security. Keep this in mind when purchasing your hose.
Examples of Different Installations
We've shared a few different installations so that you can see that not every installation is the same and can require some customization depending on the use and location or even the existing hoses if you're trying to avoid changing much.
Customer 1:
Used additional adapter fittings to ensure a good seal with their hoses.
Customer 2:
Found hoses that fit perfectly without additional adapters, using pipe tape for a quality seal.
Customer 3:
Used nipples to aid their installation.
Customer 4:
Opted for flex hoses due to tight space.
Customer 5:
Installed the mini tank in their shop, using adapters on the inlet and outlet fittings for a secure seal.
