Updated over 6 months ago

Follow the steps below to replace the Flame Sensor on your portable water heater models L5, L7, L10, EL5, EL7, and EL10.

  1. Remember to remove the knobs first.

  2. Unscrew the screws located at the top and bottom of the water heater.

  3. Gently remove the cover by sliding the cover up towards the top and mind the wires and the on/off switch.

  4. Locate the flame sensor in the center-right area of the burner. (Marked with blue tape)

  5. Unscrew the silver bracket holding the flame sensor in place and set the screw(s) aside in a safe place.

  6. Replace the flame sensor with the new one. Be sure it’s over the flame, this sensor should be approximately 1/4” from the burner to function properly.

  7. Screw the screws back into the silver bracket, put the cover back on, and activate the water heater.
